In 1991, Tony Rubino laced up his running shoes for a cause greater than himself - raising funds for multiple sclerosis. Little did he know, this was the beginning of an inspiring journey that would significantly impact countless lives. This act of commitment grew into a vibrant, annual event that would become known as Thrilla at the Villa.
For twenty transformative years, Thrilla at the Villa was an unforgettable night of camaraderie and compassion, mixing the sizzle of steaks, the thrill of boxing, and the rich aroma of cigars. It was here where community spirit thrived and the heart of giving pulsated, raising nearly $2.3 million for numerous charities. As the event evolved, it became about much more than just boxing and good company. High-end auctions, Golden Glove boxing matches, captivating live entertainment, and compelling stories of resilience and hope became the event's hallmark. It united local businesses, politicians, and citizens alike, their shared purpose fueling a profound impact on our community.
Yet, the spirit of innovation that underpinned Thrilla at the Villa remained restless. The drive to do more, reach more, and impact more led to a transformative rebranding: Thrilla at the Villa became Thrilla Gives. Embracing our mission of "Giving back to the community and making an impact within our backyard," Thrilla Gives expanded its reach to support a broader array of organizations.
